Disabled or imprinted bird assessments
Sometimes birds can not be released due to disabilities or being 'imprinted'. Whilst some birds can may be wild up, this can sometimes be a challenge due to the lack of survival skills and trust in humans. Despite this, many disabled birds and imprinted birds can live happily in captivity. But there needs must be met and if a new bird guardian it's important they are given support. Our bird assessments make this possible and offer some reassurance that your bird will not be taken away or reported.
How it works
We offer a 60 minute assessment with an optional follow up call. This includes a written report for you to file and share with the appropriate people. We always recommend registering your bird with a bird friendly vet, please note some vets do not believe some disabled birds can live happily in captivity, so please ask them about this before registering.
During our call or in person meeting we will help you continue to live the best life with your best friend and offer suggestions, this could be type of enrichment, housing and the correct diet. The report will outline any suggestions and as proof that your bird is kept in the right conditions.

Due to the nature of this service and it's importance, there is no cost but we ask for a donation towards our rescue for out time.
